Opening of a new Apprentice Boys branch club
The Baker Parent Club welcomes the oppurtunity to invite brethren and friends to consider assisting our Parent Club to future expand and develop our illustrious brotherhood. By opening a new branch of the Baker Club in your area. We, in the parent club will be delighted and privileged to offer our help, assistance and support to ensure your interest is developed and rewarded with an Apprentice Boys club in your town, village or district.
A minumum of 13 members is required to apply to the governing body of the association for a new charter. These members must be initiated inside the walls of Londonderry. This is a simple though special ceremony which, will be conducted by members of the Baker Parent Club. This aspect of our ritual makes our association different and unique from other loyal orders and fraternal groupings. Present initiated members, who belong to different branch clubs may transfer to the Baker Parent Club with the intention of applying their new charter. The task is simple, however our principle officers will be pleased to guide you through each step of the process.
After receiving approval of the general committee the governing body, a representative party from the parent club will visit your local area for the presentation of the new branch charter. The title "Baker Club" will be prefixed by the name of your local area. This offers you the oppurtunity to promote your locality with your own local Baker Club of the Apprentice Boys of Derry.
